Krafton has launched a voluntary resignation program as it ramps up its focus on being an “AI-first company”.
Last month, ahead of reporting a “record-high cumulative” performance in its Q3 2025 financial report, Subnautica 2 and PUBG publisher Krafton announced it was positioning itself as an “AI-first company.”
The publisher said it would be “prioritising AI as a central and primary means of problem-solving” and “fostering change in individuals and organisations, increasing company-wide productivity, and accelerating mid- to long-term corporate value growth.”
Now, as of yesterday, November 12, Krafton is inviting Korean staff to apply for special severance packages, thought to be worth between six and 36 months’ salary, depending upon grade and service.
According to Business Korea, as reported by Automaton, Krafton insists its reorganisation isn’t to cut headcount.
“The core purpose is to support members in proactively designing their growth direction and embarking on new challenges both inside and outside the company amid the era of AI transformation,” a Krafton spokesperson told Business Korea.
“The company plans to support members in autonomously deciding whether to continue the direction of change internally or expand externally.”
