Bandai Namco is selling Limbic Entertainment to “a private investor specializing in video games.”

The Japanese megacorp says the sale of Limbic, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Bandai Namco, forms part of its strategy “to refocus its portfolio to areas where the company delivers the strongest content.”

Bandai said that, backed by this private investor, the studio will “continue its entrepreneurial and creative journey in the specialist segment of building and management simulation games.”

Its current leadership will remain, as will the company’s name and identity.

“We’re proud of what the teams have achieved over the years and wish our friends at Limbic all the best with their projects as an independent studio.” said Arnaud Muller, CEO of Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe.

There’s been quite a lot of change at Bandai Namco recently, from selling Bandai Namco Studios Singapore to Nintendo, to Tekken veteran Katsuhiro Harada announcing his departure from Bandai Namco after three decades.
