The Fallout franchise saw a substantial increase in sales during the holiday period following the season two premiere of Amazon’s adaptation.

That’s according to Video Game Insights, which recorded “significant spikes” in engagement and sales across all platforms.

Looking at the daily estimated units sold across Steam, PlayStation, and Xbox, Fallout 4 passed over 12,000 units sold on December 29.

Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 4 experienced a notable growth in sales on January 7, with New Vegas reaching almost 8,000 units sold and Fallout 3 making it to 3,000.

As for daily active users, there was a significant spike for Fallout 4 and Fallout 76 in the days following Christmas.

On Xbox specifically, Fallout 4 saw the largest peak of almost 100,000 players in early January. When season two premiered on December 16, the most DAUs were on Fallout 76 (which is available on Game Pass).

According to Alinea’s data, Steam saw the most DAUs for returning players, increasing from a weekly average of 60,000 before the second season premiere followed by a peak of 120,000.

The number of concurrent players on Steam has doubled since season two began, jumping from an average of 20,000 to over 40,000 since its return.

Looking at its data across all platforms, Alinea found that Fallout season two “acted as a massive catalyst for player engagement” for Fallout 76 specifically, with DAUs increasing from a pre-release baseline of 167,000 players to a peak of 235,000 players on December 30.
