French publisher and developer Nacon has delayed its game showcase to May 2026 after filing for insolvency.
Nacon’s annual Connect showcase was scheduled to air on March 4 but was postponed “to ensure [its] future announcements have the impact they deserve.”
“Faced with a difficult economic environment for the company, we are choosing to focus our resources on upcoming releases and the development of our current games,” it said.
“This period will allow us to polish our projects and prepare for a new Nacon Connect to be held in May, which will showcase the work of our studios in the best possible way.”
Last week, Nacon announced that its majority shareholder, Bigben Interactive, was unable to make a €43 million loan repayment due to the “unexpected refusal of its banking pool to respond to the drawdown notice.”
To continue operating, the firm filed for insolvency and is considering court-supervised procedures.
“The aim of this procedure is to assess all possible solutions to ensure the sustainability of the Company’s activity under the best possible conditions, protect employees, and preserve jobs, while renegotiating with its creditors in a calm and constructive framework,” Nacon said.
“This procedure will enable the Company to continue its business, renegotiate its debts, and develop a credible and effective continuation plan.”
