The UKIE Game Awards 2026 took place last night, with Battlefield 6 winning UK Game of the Year and best PC game.

Developed by Battlefield Studios, which includes Guildford-based Criterion Games, the first-person shooter sold over seven million units in three days, marking the biggest launch in the Battlefield franchise. It also debuted as the best-selling title of 2025 in the US.

Rebellion’s Atomfall was awarded best console game, while FuturLab’s Powerwash Simulator won best mobile game. Just Add Water and Dovetail Games’ Train Sim World VR: New York received the award for best UK mixed reality game.

Glowmade’s King of Meat won the award for best user-generated content. Last month, Amazon Game Studios announced that servers for the online multiplayer would shut down on April 9, 2026, after having not “found the audience it hoped for.”

Playstack won best publisher for the second year in a row, while best developer went to nDreams. Yesterday, the Farnborough-based studio announced restructuring, which will include “significant” staff reductions and the closure of two studios.

Elsewhere, four industry veterans were inducted into the UK Games Industry Hall of Fame, including Debbie Bestwick, Richard Bartle, Jon Ingold, and Kristian Segerstrale.
