Ballistic Moon, the developer behind 2024’s Until Dawn remake, has been dissolved.
An application to remove the Woking-based developer from the Companies House register was filed in November 2025. A final notice published on February 3, 2026, confirmed the studio’s closure.
Reports circulated last March that Ballistic Moon was “effectively closed.” This followed layoffs in September 2024, when the studio “scaled down” to “secure its future.”
A total of 40 employees were affected during the redundancy process. Reports suggested that last year, 20 more developers were “quietly laid off,” leaving “only the studio’s founders” and “possibly” a handful of staff.
Ballistic Moon was founded in 2020 by production director Duncan Kershaw, creative director Neil McEwan and technology director Chris Lamb, all of whom previously worked at Supermassive Games.
