The 98th Academy Awards, widely known as The Oscars 2026, was a stunning night dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the biggest movies from 2025 and the incredible people who brought them to the big screen.

One Battle After Another was the big winner of the night, taking home six awards, including Best Picture, Supporting Actor (Sean Penn), Director (Paul Thomas Anderson), Casting (Cassandra Kulukundis), Film Editing (Andy Jurgensen), and Adapted Screenplay.

Sinners, who led the night with 16 nominations, took home four Oscars, including Best Actor (Michael B. Jordan), Cinematography (Autumn Durald Arkapaw), Original Score, and Original Screenplay. Furthermore, Arkapaw was the first woman to win the award for Cinematography.

Frankenstein was nominated in nine categories and took home three wins, including Achievement in Production Design (Tamara Deverell, Shane Vieau), Costume Design (Kate Hawley), and Makeup and Hairstyling (Mike Hill, Jordan Samuel and Cliona Furey).

There were also some other big moments during the night, as KPop Demon Hunters’ ‘Golden’ won Best Original Song as the first KPop song to do so in the history of the Academy Awards, and there was the first tie in the Oscars since 2013, thanks to Best Live-Action Short Film (The Singers and Two People Exchanging Saliva).
