Resident Evil Requiem debuted as the best-selling game of 2026 in the US, topping Circana’s February charts and ranking in first place across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC storefronts.

The ninth instalment in Capcom’s survival horror franchise sold 60% more in its launch week than Resident Evil Village. Unit sales rose by more than 40%, excluding bundled versions.

Speaking of bundled versions, the Resident Evil Generation Pack on Switch 2 – which includes Resident Evil 7, Village, and Requiem – debuted at No.20.

Four more new titles appeared in Circana’s Top 20 for February: Mario Tennis Fever, God of War: Sons of Sparta, My Hero Academia: All’s Justice, and Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined. The latter debuted as the 14th best-selling game of 2026.

Looking at mobile content, Monopoly Go topped the charts, pushing Royal Match down to second place. Pokémon Go broke back into the top ten, rising eight places.

“Pokémon Go shot up in the ranks, breaking into the Top 10 again with 61% revenue growth month-over-month and knocking Free Fire out of the Top 10,” said Sensor Tower’s Bryan Isagholian.

“This is likely due to the Road to Kalos event being launched late February, and the title will continue to see an increase in daily revenue into early March before the event comes to a close.”

Overall, the US video game market generated $4.6 billion in February, while content spending reached $4 billion. Both saw flat year-on-year growth, supported by a 27% increase in non-subscription sales and the success of Requiem.

Hardware grew 22% year on year to £326 million. Switch 2 sales offset declines for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, though PS5 still led the hardware market in unit and dollar sales.

The Switch 2 finished second, and after nine months on the market, its life-to-date install base is 45% higher than the original Switch.

Here are the top 20 selling games from the period of February 1, 2026 to February 28, 2026, data courtesy of Circana:
