Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has continued its victory lap around the industry’s award ceremonies by scooping Best Game at the BIG Festival Awards.
The indie game awards took place on Wednesday night at Gamescom Latam in São Paulo, Brazil, and featured 16 categories, culminating in the presentation of Sandfall Interactive with the coveted Best Game prize. The title also took home the trophy for Best Audio.
Other winners on the night included Moomintroll: Winter’s Warmth (Best Art), The Roottrees Are Dead (Best Narrative), and MIO: Memories In Orbit (Best Gameplay).
A Rat’s Quest – The Way Back Home from Mexican studio The Dreamerians took home the title for Best Game: Latin America, and A.I.L.A. from Pulsatrix Studios won Best Game: Brazil.

Honourable mentions went to Dispatch (Best Game), Kentum (Best Game: Latin America), Master Lemon: The Quest for Iceland (Best Game: Brazil), Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault (Best Audio), and The Alters (Best Gameplay).
Gamescom Latam also saw the announcement of the shortlist for the “Brazil is Ready for Gaming” (Brasil Tá Pra Game) Award from the Brazilian Agency for International Tourism Promotion (Embratur) and the Brazilian Association of Game Developers (Abragames).

The winner of the award will be announced in August at Gamescom in Germany, and will take home a cash prize of 70,000 Brazilian reals ($14,000).
