Capcom has reported increased profits across all divisions for the ninth consecutive year, driven by its core digital contents segment – particularly Resident Evil Requiem and strong catalogue sales within the franchise.

Digital contents sales increased 15.3% year-on-year to ¥144.2 billion ($914 million), while operating profit rose 8.4% to ¥70.6 billion ($447.4 million).

The segment achieved a record 59.07 million unit sales, an increase of over 7.1 million from the previous year.

The numbers

For the 12 months ended March 31, 2026:

  • Net sales: ¥195.6 billion ($1.2 billion, up 15.2% year-on-year)
  • Net income: ¥54.5 billion ($345.4 million, up 12.7% year-on-year)

The highlights

Requiem, which launched on February 27, 2026, sold over five million copies within five days. By April, it reached seven million units, making it the fastest-selling title in the Resident Evil franchise.

Capcom reported that strong sales and positive reception of Requiem boosted catalogue sales in the series, particularly for Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil Village.

Catalogue title sales reached 49.46 million units, surpassing the 39.49 million units recorded in the previous fiscal year.

In addition to Requiem’s impact on Resident Evil titles, Capcom’s Monster Hunter franchise also experienced sales growth, including the latest spin-off, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection.

Capcom also noted that it accelerated user base growth through a multiplatform strategy, including porting catalogue titles to the Nintendo Switch 2.

The company also reported growth in its esports and media businesses. The Devil May Cry animated series on Netflix contributed to increased sales of Devil May Cry 5 and earlier titles through coordinated pricing and promotional efforts.

Capcom’s arcade segment, including merchandise operations in Japan, generated ¥25.5 billion ($161.6 million) in net sales, up 12.8%. Operating profit rose 31.6% to ¥3.2 billion ($20.2 million).

In amusement operations, which include branded pachi-slot machines, net sales increased 13.9% to ¥17.7 billion ($112.1 million), while operating profit rose 49.7% to ¥10 billion ($63.3 million).

Capcom forecasts full-year net sales of ¥210 billion ($1.3 billion, up 7.5%) and net income of ¥58 billion ($367.5 million, up 6.3%) for the next fiscal year.

Capcom will also “strengthen long-term pricing measures and global sales” to achieve its goal of 100 million annual unit sales in its core digital contents business.
