Persona 6 is real, and coming to Xbox Game Pass when it does arrive.
Today’s announcement trailer, shown during the Xbox Showcase livestream, gave basically no details on the game — we simply saw some quick flashes of what looked like a graveyard.
No word on a release date was given, unfortunately. What we do know for certain, however, is it’s coming to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, including via Game Pass.
It’s been a full 10 years since Persona 5, though fans were aware a big reveal was coming after recent leaks seemed to show the game’s logo and protagonists. Today’s teaser trailer confirmed the logo was indeed real.
“An entirely new story is about to unfold,” reads a desription for the teaser. “The highly anticipated next chapter of the iconic RPG series delivers a bold, new standalone story blending heartfelt daily life and new characters with pulse-pounding, supernatural adventure. Whether it’s your first Persona game or you’ve been here since the beginning, this one’s for you.”
A store page for the game confirms Persona 6 will, unsurprisingly, once again feature “the signature blend of heartfelt daily life and pulse-pounding supernatural adventure” as you lead a double life in modern day Japan.
“Navigate the rhythms of everyday school life and build friendships, pursue romance, and cultivate memories that matter. But beneath the surface of familiar streets and quiet neighborhoods lies something darker: strange rumors, unsettling urban legends, and occult incidents that only you and your closest allies can face.
“Awaken the power of Persona, a manifestation of your innermost self, and discover others who share this extraordinary ability. Every relationship you nurture makes you stronger. Every bond you forge becomes a weapon against the darkness lurking within.”
In the meantime, fans have Persona 4 Revival to look forward to. That’s set to launch in February 2027 and will also launch as part of Xbox Game Pass.
“We are delighted to officially announce our work on the next installment of the Persona series and look forward to sharing the incredible efforts that the entire team is putting into Persona 6 for its release after Persona 4 Revival,” said P-Studio director Kazuhisa Wada. “As we take this next step, we are thrilled the launch date is set for Persona 4 Revival and fans get to encounter a fresh and modernized experience as they discover the mysteries hidden in Inaba.”
