Sassy Chap Games’ Date Everything won Best LGBTQ+ Indie Game and the Gayming Fan Favourite Award at this year’s Gayming Awards.
The ceremony, held at The Vermont Hollywood theatre in Los Angeles on June 8, awarded Game of the Year to Compulsion Games’ South of Midnight. Jennifer English of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 received LGBTQ+ Voice Actor of the Year.
The awards featured 14 categories recognizing video games, TV shows, developers, and content creators, “all of whom championed diversity and inclusivity globally throughout 2025.”
This year introduced the LGBTQ+ Content Creator Superstar Award, presented to Trixie Mattel for “her outstanding contribution to queer visibility across content creation and beyond.”
The Gayming Icon Award was renamed in honor of the late Rebecca Heineman and awarded to Darion Lowenstein for “his lasting contributions to LGBTQ+ representation and his commitment to uplifting queer games everywhere.”
The ceremony also raised funds for the Gayming Foundation, which “uplifts and empowers LGBTQ+ game workers and fans to affect change, celebrate inclusivity, and drive forward representation in games.”
“Every year I’m reminded that the LGBTQ+ games community is one of the most creative, tenacious, and generous communities in the world – and this years’ winners prove it beyond any doubt,” said Gayming Magazine and Gayming Awards founder Robin Gray.
“Each of them is doing something extraordinary: building worlds where we belong, forging communities where we thrive, and pushing an entire industry to be better than it was yesterday.
Gray concluded: “The Gayming Awards exist to make sure that work doesn’t go unnoticed, and nights like this fill me with genuine hope for where we’re headed. To every winner, every nominee, and everyone who voted and showed up – thank you for being part of this. We do this together.”
