On the same day as Ubisoft announced it was closing its studios in Winnipeg and Belgrade and proposing further changes in Barcelona, it’s now believed dozens of staff have been laid off from its San Francisco studio, too.

Insider Gaming reports the layoffs were announced during an internal meeting earlier today as part of the company’s seemingly endless restructuring process. 380 roles are understood to be at risk.

It’s not clear at this time how many people have been affected, but its thought between 50-100 jobs are at risk in San Francisco alone.

A total of 45 employees were let go across Ubisoft’s San Francisco studio and Red Storm Entertainment, which is based in Cary, North Carolina, in August 2024. Ubisoft San Francisco housed the team behind the publisher’s online shooter, XDefiant.

GamesIndustry.biz has contacted Ubisoft for comment.
