The Brazilian government may have leaked the next Metroid game, thanks to an age rating filed through the country’s Ministry of Justice and Public Security.

The supposed rating documentation was leaked online on July 1 and swiftly deleted, but eagle-eyed gamers were quick to take screenshots. It wasn’t long before these digital snapshots went viral, making their way across forums and social media platforms within hours.

The document lists the game’s title as ‘Metroid Ravenous,’ with its year of production listed for 2026.

The intended age rating is listed as “not recommended for children under 10 years old,” but the assigned rating is “not recommended for children under 12 years of age.”

While IGN can’t confirm the validity of this document, the screenshot’s existence is predictably sparking a massive conversation online, leaving fans equal parts excited and puzzled at the possibility of getting another Metroid game so soon after Metroid 4 Prime: Beyond, which was released in December 2025.

Some players are speculating that this could be a sequel to Metroid Dread, linking its name, ‘Ravenous,’ to Raven Beak, the main antagonist of that game.

Thus far, nothing else is known about the rumored title. As aforementioned, this would be the latest Metroid game following 4 Prime: Beyond, which was met with mixed reviews on launch. We gave the game an eight out of 10 stars, calling it an “excellent comeback” despite having “few underdeveloped elements that keep it from feeling as cohesive as its predecessors.”
