Capcom has released its Q1 financial results, reporting significant growth in net and ordinary profit driven by strong sales of Pragmata and catalogue titles – particularly its Resident Evil franchise.
The company stated it is “on track” to achieve its full-year forecast of ¥210 billion ($1.3 billion) in net sales and ¥58 billion ($367.5 million) in net income.
The numbers
For the three months ended June 30, 2026:
- Net sales: ¥70.4 billion ($429.5 million), up 54.7% year-on-year
- Operating profit: ¥41 billion ($250.1 million), up 66.9% year-on-year
- Ordinary profit: ¥41.4 billion ($252.5 million), up 81.1% year-on-year
- Net income: ¥29.1 billion ($177.5 million), up 69.2% year-on-year
The highlights
Capcom credited its Digital Earnings segment as the main driver of Q1 performance, generating net sales of ¥54.6 billion ($333 million), up 83% year-on-year, and operating profit of ¥37.5 billion ($228.7 million), up 87.5%.
Total unit sales reached 23.81 million, surpassing 14.16 million units sold in the same period last year. This includes the April launch of new IP Pragmata, which has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide. The game reached 1 million copies sold in two days and 2 million in 16 days.
Regarding catalogue titles, Capcom noted that “various initiatives for cultivating a wider user base drove sales growth” during the quarter, including pricing strategies, animated tie-ins, and multiplatform releases.
Resident Evil Requiem was a standout, now exceeding 8 million units sold. Capcom also reported “ongoing sales growth” from other franchise titles, led by Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 2.
Devil May Cry 5 reached cumulative sales of 14 million units. Street Fighter 6 benefited from “bolstered coordination between its games and esports activities,” resulting in 60 million units sold.
Overall, catalogue title unit sales reached 21.26 million, up from 13.36 million units last quarter.
Capcom’s Q1 earnings were further supported by its Arcade Operations and Amusement Equipment divisions, driven by “efficient operations of existing stores and promoting new store formats” and sales of its new smart pachinko machine.
Looking ahead, Capcom’s forecast for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2027, remains unchanged from its full-year projection in May 2026.
