Remedy reports revenue declines in Q2 and H1 as it prepares for Control Resonant launch

Remedy reported revenue declines in the first half and second quarter of 2026 while increasing marketing efforts for Control Resonant.

CEO Jean-Charles Gaudechon said these results were expected and expressed confidence in Resonant’s early reception before its September 24 launch.

The numbers

Q2 2026:

  • Revenue: €10.2 million (down 40%)
  • Operating loss: €3.9 million (compared to €0.5 million loss in the same quarter last year)

H1 2026:

  • Revenue: €23.3 million (down 23.1%)
  • Operating loss: €2.9 million (compared to €0.8 million profit in 2023)

The highlights

Remedy attributed its Q2 and H1 revenue declines to the prior launch of FBC: Firebreak during the comparison period and increased marketing for Resonant.

Pre-orders for Resonant “opened with healthy momentum” and ranked among the top three pre-ordered PlayStation games in the US, Germany, and Brazil.

“Our data indicates the game is tracking well against comparable titles in its launch window,” said Gaudechon. “In a competitive autumn window, we believe the distinctiveness and quality of the game will make it stand out.

“Combined with the release window becoming slightly less crowded since our original reveal, we remain confident in our positioning.”

Revenue from game sales and royalties totaled €3.8 million, down from €9.5 million in the same period last year, which included contributions from Firebreak and initial subscription service accruals.

Sales of 2019’s Control increased in Q2, supported by ongoing marketing for Control Resonant.

Alan Wake 2 exceeded three million lifetime sales, and royalties from both this title and Alan Wake Remastered were generated solely from consumer sales, with no platform deal accruals.

Development fees from Resonant and the Max Payne 1 & 2 remake totaled €6.4 million, compared to €7.4 million in the previous period.

“Along the road to our largest and most ambitious release to date [with Resonant], our existing catalogue has provided a solid backbone, and our other development projects advanced in line with plans, with our new project moving to production readiness,” said Gaudechon.

“Early signals and commercial metrics give us confidence in [Resonant’s] potential, but our focus remains on bringing an outstanding game to the market and letting the results speak. I personally see the game getting stronger week by week, and our marketing accelerates further in the third quarter.”
