Toy Story 3 to Be Delisted on Xbox Store Ahead of Remaster

The original Toy Story 3 video game will soon be delisted from the digital Xbox store ahead of the launch of its new remaster in October.

The store page for 2010’s unlikely classic has recently been updated with messaging confirming it will be pulled starting September 29, 2026, as shared by TrueAchievements. It means the Pixar video game will no longer be available for purchase at its $9.99 price tag on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S after that date, though those who already own the game will still be able to play it.

You can probably guess why Toy Story 3 is being delisted; a remaster is right around the corner. Come October 15, a little more than two weeks after the original is delisted, Atari and Digital Eclipse will release Toy Story 3: Complete Edition.

The remaster is said to bring the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3-era title to modern platforms with upgraded graphics, resolution, and framerate, as well as some previously exclusive content. Judging by the fact that the delisting disclaimer also mentions the Complete Edition, it looks like Disney already wants players to turn their attention to the future.

“Starting on September 29, 2026, Toy Story 3 will no longer be available for purchase. Players who have purchased Toy Story 3 will still be able to access the game after this date,” the full announcement on the Xbox store page said. “Toy Story 3: The Complete Edition, will be released on October 15th, 2026 on Xbox Series X|S, and will include all of the features in the original game with updated graphics and additional new features.”

The original Toy Story 3 game was developed by Avalanche Software and published by Disney Interactive Studios, with Disney, Atari, and Digital Eclipse announcing their Complete Edition remaster earlier this year. It was revealed with a collection of other soon-to-be-re-released Toy Story games as part of what is being called Toy Story: Retro Roundup.

Both games will arrive for PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X | S come October 15. Pricing will vary between physical and digital editions, as well as your platform of choice.

A physical two-pack bundle, which comes with both the Complete Edition and Retro Roundup, is listed at $39.99 for the original Switch and PlayStation platforms, while a physical copy for Switch 2 is more expensive at $49.99. The Nintendo eShop, meanwhile, lists the standalone Toy Story 3 remaster for $19.99 for either Switch console. Regardless, you’ll be spending extra cash on those new bells and whistles if you want to play Toy Story 3 after the September cutoff.

“Reopen the toy chest and saddle up as Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Jessie in Toy Story 3 Complete Edition, a 3D adventure based on the hit 2010 animated film, Toy Story 3,” an official description said. “Now available for modern systems, the updated game features improved graphics and a few new surprises in store. Play through authentic moments from the movie in Story Mode, or drop into the wild west sandbox of Woody’s Roundup in Toy Box Mode.”

Upcoming Disney and Pixar Movies

Toy Story 3 is highly regarded, at least as far as movie tie-in games go. IGN gave it a 7.5/10 review in 2010, calling it “an example of when a license game is done mostly right.”
