At least 20 soldiers have chosen to reenlist after a United States Army base in Fort Stewart, Georgia, began offering time off for the launch of Grand Theft Auto 6.

According to CBS News, 20 soldiers of the 3rd Infantry Division’s 9th Brigade Engineering Battalion have chosen to reenlist after being presented with the opportunity for some off-time to play Rockstar Games’ latest. A flyer presenting the GTA 6 deal that was signed by commanding officer Lt. Col. Ryan D. Hodgson found its way online earlier this week.

“The idea was to have a unique incentives program that connects to what soldiers are interested in,” 3rd Infantry Division Lt. Col. Angel Tomko said in a statement. “The command team, in conjunction with the career counselor, wanted to get soldiers excited to reenlist.”

There are about 130 soldiers eligible to sign up, with the offer specifying that they must commit to a reenlistment period for at least two years to as long as six years. Dedicating that time to the U.S. Army will net Rockstar fans four days off to play the new Grand Theft Auto game. Those interested have from now until November 14, 2026 to sign up, which just so happens to coincide with the November 19 launch of GTA 6.

While soldiers in Fort Stewart weigh the benefits of some time off for reenlistment, thousands online are still gathering to discuss the wave of leaks that have come out in the last few days. What appeared to be early footage found its way online August 18, and although it started off small, recent updates have seemingly only shown more of the game.

Meanwhile, Rockstar is still planning to host its big first-look Netflix reveal next Thursday, August 27. Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has teased that the showcase will be more than a simple sneak peek.

Despite a few rumors to the contrary, GTA 6 is still on track to launch on its November release date. For more, you can read about how Take-Two is doing its best to track down the person responsible for all of those leaks.
