Hendrik Lesser has been re-elected president of the European Games Developer Federation (EGDF) as the organisation announces its 2026-2028 board.
Homo Ludens CEO David Rabineau and No Brakes Games studio director Gediminas Tarasevicius have stepped down.
The EGDF board now consists of:
- Martine Spaans (Fourth Moon Games COO, Dutch Games Association general manager)
- KooPee Hiltunen (Neogames Finland Association director)
- Per Strömbäck (Gaming Culture Foundation board member, Stockholm Region Business Council member)
- Hrvoje Mitic (GamesCo. head of business development, Croatian Game Development Alliance secretary general, Splitscreen Croatia founder)
- Jakub Marszalkowski (Head of Games Industry Conference, Indie Games Poland Foundation co-founder and board member)
- Vanessa Kaplan (Syndicat National du Jeu Vidéo director general)
The EGDF has outlined its agenda for the next two years, focusing on offering developers “a route to the top of the value chain” as well as improved access to funding, talent, and skills.
“The EGDF will continue to monitor and facilitate the development of the European game industry ecosystem, strengthen its collaboration with European game development studios, and increase the European game industry’s global visibility,” the group said.
“Furthermore, as the game industry is a forerunner of AI-based tools and technologies, the association set a goal of becoming the first AI-based European trade association.”
Earlier this week, the EGDF and Video Games Europe (VGE) published the European Video Game Industry Insights Report 2024.
The report states that the European games industry generated €24 billion in turnover in 2024, with over 6,600 studios employing more than 95,000 people.
