Meccha Chameleon Nintendo Switch 2 Revealed

Viral hide-and-seek game Meccha Chameleon is sneaking onto Nintendo Switch 2 – and it’s out today.

The indie developer behind the popular PC video game, lemorion_1224, confirmed the news during today’s September 2026 Nintendo Direct. Instead of waiting to check out Meccha Chameleon with a later release date, it was confirmed that players will be able to paint themselves into the experience starting today.

It’s currently unclear if Meccha Chameleon will come to other platforms like PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

“Blend into your surroundings in this competitive multiplayer game that combines drawing and hide-and-seek,” Nintendo said. shortly after its Direct reveal. “Strike a pose and paint yourself to become one with nearby walls, furniture, or ornaments using colors and patterns while the ‘It’ team searches for hidden players. Supporting 1-12 players online3, every match rewards creativity and quick thinking.”

Meccha Chameleon launched for PC via Steam in June and quickly became one of the biggest games of 2026. Millions of copies sold and a few surprising collaborations later, lemorion’s entertaining multiplayer game is still entertainment players despite its lack of a console release. It coming to Switch 2, however, will open the door for even more fans to try it out.

In case you’re unaware, Meccha Chameleon has fans play a game of hide-and-seek where players are able to blend into environments by using their painting skills. It’s easy enough for anyone to try but still has a high skill celing, with some of the more talented artists showing off the abilities by recreating the Mona Lisa.
