The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has hit its highest concurrent player count on Steam since launch following the launch of CD Projekt Red’s free Remastered edition.
Over 120,000 people were playing the 2015 RPG on Steam at the time of writing, putting it just outside the platform’s ten most-played games of the last 24 hours.
According to Steam-tracking site SteamDB, that tops the game’s previous peaks, which includes a launch high of 92,000 in 2015, a 103,000 peak in January 2020 when Netflix’s Witcher series was at its most popular, and 89,000 in December 2022 around the game’s next-gen update.
The current figure, of course, does not include players on GOG, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation, Xbox, or Switch 2, where the game is also sold.
The Remastered update is free to owners of any existing version, with the Hearts of Stone and Blood of Wine expansions thrown in at no extra cost. It brings visual and gameplay upgrades.
Earlier this year, Netflix confirmed that the fifth season of The Witcher will be its last.
