Casual game marketplace Legacy Games has announced it will close its online store on December 31, 2026.

Founded in 1998, Legacy Games specialises in publishing hidden object games on PC, console, and mobile, as well as other casual genres.

It launched its online store in 2020, which offered over 1,000 titles, with the slogan ‘Amazing games. Incredible value. Yours to keep forever.’

As VGC notes, most of these were released as multi-game bundles. It also distributed physical discs with digital codes at Walmart stores and on Amazon.

An FAQ on the store’s page states that after the store’s closure date, disc download codes will no longer be redeemable, and points, rewards, and Hero Club memberships will also end.

Legacy Games’ website and servers will close on February 28, 2027. The company noted that this will be the last day to download and install purchased games.

Once installed, these titles can continue to be played so long as they remain installed on the same device. Players will no longer be able to re-download previous purchases, meaning if it’s deleted, then it will become unavailable.

Free games available to claim via Amazon Luna will follow the same trajectory. Players who claimed these titles in the past will also have until the February date to download them.

Legacy Games has not provided a reason for the closure, other than thanking its customers for being “part of the Legacy Games story.”
