Preorders are now open for Magic: The Gathering’s next Marvel crossover, Darkhold Destiny. Amazon has already listed the Darkhold Destiny Arcanum Bundle for $99.99, sold directly by the retailer, which is quickly becoming one of the most popular items from the new set.
For comparison, trading card marketplace TCGplayer is asking $200 for the same bundle, meaning Amazon is $100.01 cheaper. On the other hand, you shouldn’t take TCGplayer’s lowest price as the best listing available on the site in the short term, as there are currently only two sellers at this time; we expect more to appear as time goes on.
In the meantime, the Darkhold Destiny Arcanum Bundle has an interesting collection content-wise, and whether it’s worth the price tag or not more or less depends on what you’re looking for.

What’s Inside the Darkhold Destiny Arcanum Bundle?
Along with a Collector Booster (alt-art Arcanum promo cards and Full-Art Lands), you’ll also get eight regular Booster Packs inside Darkhold Destiny’s Arcanum Bundle.
If you’re the type of Magic: The Gathering collector who usually likes going after the fancier treatments — like source-material cards, silver foil versions, and Midnight Raised Foils, that’s already a nice extra bang for your hundred bucks.
On the other hand, don’t go into this thinking you’re guaranteed one of the rarest pulls from the get-go, as the headliner Mythic Rares only have a 1% chance of appearing in Collector Boosters.
Personally, I think it’s the promos that will make this one more worth grabbing. You get three altogether: one traditional foil Mythic Rare, and two of six traditional foil promos — the latter being Arcanum cards with alternate art that’s exclusive to the bundle.
The remaining extras are 30 basic lands, including ten full-art Bifrost lands (five foil and five non-foil), an oversized Spindown life counter and a dedicated storage box.
Is it Worth $100?
As for Darkhold Destiny itself, first impressions so far make it seem like it’s a definite Magic: The Gathering worth grabbing if you were of a fan of the earlier Marvel Super Heroes, or you’re simply catching up and want to try new crossovers.
The story behind it is another interesting one, with Dormammu and Hela using a page of the Darkhold to tear through realities and spread ‘arcane nightmares across the multiverse’, as Wizards of the Coast puts it; all standard comic book-esque fun.
As for value in terms of the Darkhold Destiny Arcanum Bundle, however, Amazon also lists the regular nine-pack Bundle for $69.99, whilst Draft Night costs $119.99 with 12 boosters and a Collector Booster. If you’re more after grabbing as many packs as possible, I’d advise those latter two being your top priority.
The regular Bundle does have its own mechanically unique Mythic Rare promo, though; it’s just not packing alternate-art cards and a Collector Booster like the Arcanum version.
Be that as it may, the Arcanum bundle is totally worth it if you want a good amount of packs and some exclusive foil promos to go with it — pretty much a must-buy for avid Magic collectors.
There are currently no other listings outside of Amazon’s $99.99 and TCGplayer’s $200 listings, though, so we’d advise grabbing the former whilst you can before it sells out if you’re keen.
