Elden Ring is packed with secrets, mysteries, and over 300 unique armaments to slay terrifying bosses. Most of these can be obtained as players progress by killing bosses and exploring the Lands in Between, but FromSoftware is notorious for making it tough to acquire particular weapons. They do this by hiding the weapons behind illusory walls and even decreasing weapon drop rates to as low as 0.5% per kill.
The title is gaining traction once again after the announcement of the DLC, Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. As such, new players and veterans alike are looking for reasons to jump right back in. Changing up primary weapons in builds is a great way to refresh the gameplay experience, especially with myriad areas to explore and bosses to slay, perhaps once again.
All drop-rate percentages are calculated while having 100 points in the Discovery.
Updated September 20, 2024 by Erik Petrovich: The rarest Elden Ring weapons tend to be those that drop from enemies at an extremely low rate, or only drop from certain enemies that are difficult to farm to begin with. With the Elden Ring DLC, there aren’t as many rare weapons, but there is one weapon that very few players have managed to find: the Euporia Twinblade. Though this legendary rare Elden Ring weapon doesn’t drop off of an enemy, it can only be found in an extremely out-of-the-way location in the final area of the Elden Ring DLC. To get this rare DLC weapon, players have to backtrack through a complex route that leads to a previous legacy dungeon, and the route to take – and umps to make – might not be obvious. This guide has been updated to include details on this rarest DLC weapon, including its stats, why you might want to get it, and what you must do to find its location.
11 The Euporia Twinblade
A Secret Item Found At The End Of The Elden Ring DLC
- Weapon Classes: Twinblade
- Required Stats: STR: 16, DEX: 16, FAITH: 24
- Weight: 8.5
Though this is not technically one of the rarest Elden Ring weapons, it is rare in that most players have not acquired it. That’s because not only is the Euporia Twinblade hidden in an out-of-the-way secret location, its hidden location cannot be found until nearly the end of the Elden Ring DLC. But it’s well worth going out of your way for because it happens to also be one of the best Twinblades in the game, thanks in part to its powerful Ash of War.
The Euporia Twinblade scales with Strength, Dexterity, and Faith, and deals a split of Physical and Holy damage (slightly favoring Holy damage). But its Ash of War called Euporia Vortex is what makes this weapon so strong. When used, the Tarnished will raise their blade up, empower it, and then rapidly spin as it comes crashing down to your target. After the weapon is finished spinning, it will fire out some beams of Holy damage, too.
But that’s not all – as you continue to attack enemies in rapid succession, the Euporia Vortex skill becomes empowered (unless you attack Those Who Live In Death). If you hit an enemy enough times within about a ten-second-long time frame, you will gain a 5% damage buff and your weapon will start glowing. Then, if you use Euporia Vortex with this buff active, it will last longer, deal more damage, and blast the area with Holy damage in a wide beam.
But if you want to try out this visually impressive and surprisingly hard-hitting Twinblade, you’ll have to find it first, and that’s a lot easier said than done.
How To Get The Euporia Twinblade
To get the Euporia Twinblade, you have to unlock the Enir-Ilim legacy dungeon after beating Messmer and burning the Sealing Tree. Essentially, to get the Euporia Twinblade, players must go backwards through Enir-Ilim back into Belurat, Tower Settlement until they find an elevator that leads down to its location.
But there are a lot of steps to acquire this extremely hidden Elden Ring weapon. Refer to our guide on How To Get The Euporia Twinblade for specific directions starting from the Spiral Rose Site of Grace in Enir-Ilim to reach the Euporia Twinblade location.
10 Rotten Crystal Spear And Rotten Crystal Staff
Drop Chance: 8%
- Weapon Classes: Spear, Glintstone Staff
- Required Stats: (STR – 10, DEX – 16, INT – 16), (STR – 8, INT – 48)
- Weight: 5.5, 4.5
As two of the very few weapons that grant the Scarlet Rot status effect as well as magic damage, the Rotten Crystal Spear and Rotten Crystal Staff are prime choices for mages with points invested in Dexterity. While there are far better alternatives in the spear category than the Rotten Crystal Spear, the Rotten Crystal Staff is one of the highest-scaling Glintstone staves in the game and offers an additional 10% boost to Crystalian sorceries.
Sadly, players cannot take advantage of the Scarlet Rot status effect with the Rotten Crystal Staff unless they dole out physical damage with the staff.
How To Get The Rotten Crystal Spear And Rotten Crystal Staff
To get the Rotten Crystal Spear And Rotten Crystal Staff, defeat the various Lesser Crystalian mobs located within Elphael, Brace of the Haligtree.
9 Haligtree Crest Greatshield
Drop Chance: 4%
- Weapon Classes: Greatshield
- Required Stats: STR – 36
- Weight: 18.5
Although the Haligtree Crest Greatshield has a 4% drop rate at 100 Discovery, which is not that rare compared to others on the list, it is nonetheless one of the most difficult items to get.
Players who strengthen and infuse Haligtree Crest Greatshield will find the final boss, Radagon, a walk in the park, thanks to its high Holy Damage negation. Though it’s not a weapon, it’s still among the rarest items in Elden Ring, and technically can be used to great effect against many of the endgame bosses.
How To Get The Haligtree Crest Greatshield
To get the Haligtree Crest Greatshield, Players have to reach a single enemy near the Haligtree Roots Site of Grace to acquire this item. Look for the Haligtree Knight standing in a graveyard on its own at the very bottom of the Haligtree area – this single enemy has a 4% chance to drop the shield.
8 Monk’s Flameblade
Drop Chance: 4%
- Weapon Classes: Curved Greatsword
- Required Stats: STR – 18, DEX – 18
- Weight: 9
After patch 1.09 dropped, players rushed to try out their favorite Curved Greatswords as FromSoftware decided to buff their range, speed, and other factors. Hence, Monk’s Flameblade is the perfect choice for those who want to add a bit of artistic flair to their Curved Greatswords.
It can be infused with Ash of War, which adds more customizability depending on playstyles, making it one of the best-looking and most versatile weapons – if you can get your hands on one.
How To Get The Monk’s Flameblade
To get the Monk’s Flameblade, you must farm a single Fire Monk in the Giant-Conquering Hero’s Grave Site Of Grace
7 Envoy’s Greathorn
Drop Chance: 2%
- Weapon Classes: Colossal Weapon
- Required Stats: STR – 28, DEX -12, FAI – 24
- Weight: 19.5
Dropped by the Oracle Envoy Giants, this colossal weapon has a unique Ash of War, the Great Oracular Bubble, which makes up for its poor attack stat. Another great but accessible alternative would be Envoy’s Longhorn, which is relatively lighter and has a higher DPS output.
The skill on the Envoy’s Greathorn absolutely decimates tanky enemies with relatively smaller hitboxes. Cosplaying Envoys by wearing the Envoy Crown also boosts the base damage.
How To Get The Envoy’s Greathorn
To get the Envoy’s Greathorn, you must farm Envoy enemies inside Leyndell and the Haligtree, specifically the ones who wield this specific version of the weapon. There are three different versions, so use a Telescope if you are unsure of your target.
6 Ripple Crescent Halberd
Drop Chance: 2%
- Weapon Classes: Halberd
- Required Stats: STR – 12, DEX – 12, ARC – 20
- Weight: 8.5
This weapon is a boon to players with points invested into Arcane as they can potentially apply any status effect to enemies with one hit. Being one of the few items with an “S” rated scaling in Arcane and a lack of default status effects, the Ripple Crescent Halberd can be buffed by using consumables.
In the community, this weapon is notorious for using the Saporific Grease to apply the Sleep status effect on enemies over and over again. However, it can also be used with Blood or Poison greases.
How To Get The Ripple Crescent Halberd
To get the Ripple Crescent Halberd, you must farm Albinauric enemies that wield it, like the ones in the Academy Gate Town area of Liurnia, or in the Palace Ledge-Approach area of Mohgwyn Palace.
5 Guardian’s Swordspear
Drop Chance: 2%
- Weapon Classes: Halberd
- Required Stats: STR – 17, DEX – 16
- Weight: 9
Farming this extremely rare Halberd is definitely worth it as it is considered to be the best Halberd in Elden Ring if one has enough points invested into Dexterity. Not only is the Guardian’s Swordspear substantially faster when compared to other weapons in its class, but it also outshines its peers when it comes to pure attack rating when paired with the Keen affinity.
Hybrid builds like Dexterity and Faith can also use spells like Bloodflame Blade or even Vyke’s Dragonbolt, making it easier to apply status effects to enemies with weak resistances.
How To Get The Guardian’s Swordspear
To get the Guardian’s Swordspear, players must defeat the six Erdtree Guardians near the Minor Erdtree Church in Altus Plateau, which each have a chance to drop this amazing Halberd.
4 Magma Blade
Drop Chance: 1%
- Weapon Classes: Curved Sword
- Required Stats: STR – 9, DEX – 15, FAI – 16
- Weight: 4
The glistering appearance of the Magma Blade made quite a name for itself in the Elden Ring community due to its undeniable resemblance to Kratos’ Blades of Chaos from God of War. However, an exceptionally low drop rate chance hinders players from attaining two of these weapons for their Kratos cosplay.
Its unique Ash of War scatters loads of magma all-around players while executing up to three slashes. Patch 1.09 also introduced several buffs for this weapon, which include increased running attack speed and decreased recovery time.
How To Get The Magma Blade
To get the Magma Blade, you must kill the Serpent enemies inside of Volcano Manor, specifically the Serpents that are visibly wielding this blade.
3 Cleanrot Spear & Halo Scythe
Drop Chance: 1% / 2%
- Weapon Classes: Spear, Reaper
- Required Stats: (STR – 16, DEX – 16, FAI – 14), (STR -13, DEX – 16, FAI – 15)
- Weight: 5.5, 8.5
The Cleanrot Spear and Halo Scythe remain two of the most popular Faith-scaling weapons in Elden Ring. The Halo Scythe is more popular in the community thanks to its Ash of War, Miquella’s Ring of Light, which improves upon the Sacred Ring of Light by considerably increasing its effective range.
This doesn’t undermine the Cleanrot Spear though. It also has a unique Ash of War that summons spears from the ground up and deals massive holy damage to enemies who are caught in the area of effect.
How To Get The Cleanrot Spear & Halo Scythe
To get the Cleanrot Spear & Halo Scythe, you must farm Lesser Cleanrot Knights, who roam around the Swamp of Aeonia area of Caelid. These enemies can also be found in the Shaded Castle, though players have found that the ones in Caelid have a higher chance to drop these items.
2 Celebrant’s Cleaver, Celebrant’s Sickle, And Celebrant’s Rib-Rake
Drop Chance: 0.5%
- Weapon Classes: Axe, Dagger, Spear.
- Required Stats: (STR – 12, DEX – 8), (STR – 6, DEX – 11), (STR – 8, DEX – 14)
- Weight: 4.5, 1.5, 5
This horrifying trio of tools is made from Human bones and can only be found in Dominula, Windmill village, towards the north of Altus Plateau. The trio share unique abilities that grant 10 runes per successful hit and can be infused and buffed by magic or consumables.
These weapons have extremely low drop rates, and it would be a wide idea to boost one’s discovery by consuming a Silver Pickled Fowl Foot to get a hold on them.
How To Get The Celebrant’s Cleaver, Celebrant’s Sickle, And Celebrant’s Rib-rake
To get the Celebrant’s Cleaver, Celebrant’s Sickle, And Celebrant’s Rib-Rake, farm the sinister Celebrants who dance around the Windmill Village and surrounding villages. They are typically in groups, so be careful.
1 Noble’s Estoc & Noble’s Slender Sword
Drop Chance: 0.5%
- Weapon Classes: Thrusting Sword, Straight Sword
- Required Stats: (STR – 9, DEX – 10), (STR – 8, DEX – 11)
- Weight: 3.5, 3.5
FromSoftware has a reputation for being unpredictable and the very existence of Noble’s Estoc and Noble’s Slender Sword are proof. However, the exceedingly low chance of receiving these weapons does not excite the average Elden Ring player who looks around for powerful loot.
Weapon-collecting enthusiasts, on the other hand, need to get their hands on this pair of weapons to complete the challenge. These weapons hide in plain sight and can be farmed from arguably the easiest mobs in the game – the Wandering Nobles.
How To Get The Noble’s Estoc & Noble’s Slender Sword
To get the Noble’s Estoc & Noble’s Slender Sword, players should farm the weak Noble enemies that can often be found wandering along roads near Sites of Grace, particularly in Limgrave. A good farm is located in the Mistwood Outskirts site of grace– head directly north to find three Wandering Nobles that will respawn every time you return to the nearby Grace.
