Despite some of the new game modes and mechanics introduced in this year’s installment, Career Mode remains one of the most popular parts of EA Sports FC 25. It allows players to manage a real-world club, giving them full control over pretty much every element of its day-to-day running, from the players that the club signs to the style of football that they play out on the pitch.
Most EA Sports FC 25 players will likely choose to manage their favorite club or just look for the team with the highest transfer budget. However, those with no real preference may want to consider managing one of the Career Mode clubs listed below, as each offers up an exciting adventure due to the strength of their squads or the fairytale story that players could help pen.
Real Madrid
24-25 Season Transfer Budget: £104,883,152
Choosing to manage the best team in the world may seem like a bit of a cop-out, but managing Real Madrid will likely prove to be an exciting prospect for many Career Mode managers. Most of their starting eleven are aged 25 or under, meaning that players can expect to dominate Europe for many years to come. Los Blancos also have quite a few exciting youth players just waiting to break through, with Guler and Endrick both able to reach a 90 rating if properly nurtured.
Barcelona
24-25 Season Transfer Budget: £70,507,968
Some may prefer the idea of helping a fallen giant to return to glory, and there are few giants who have fallen quite as far as Barcelona in recent years. Despite the club’s financial woes though, there’s still a fairly decent transfer budget available at the beginning of Career Mode, and they too have plenty of high-potential players on their books. Taking Barca back to the top will require a fair amount of effort, but the reward for doing so will likely taste a whole lot sweeter than any success found with their bitter rivals.
Wrexham
24-25 Season Transfer Budget: £1,848,750
After back-to-back promotions, Wrexham currently find themselves sitting pretty near the top of League 1. Their transfer budget is a little on the low side when compared to some of the other teams in the division, but those looking to continue the Welsh club’s rise from the conference will likely relish this challenge. If funds really are an issue, players could instead opt for Birmingham City and attempt to help the League 1 club bounce back to the Premier League, but Wrexham’s story is a whole lot more romantic.
Chelsea
24-25 Season Transfer Budget: £143,541,152
Besides Manchester City, no British club has a bigger transfer budget than Chelsea at the start of this year’s Career Mode. Of course, players can easily make up the difference by selling some of the many players that the central London club currently has knocking around. They can then use this money to supplement the many future stars that are already plying their trade at Stamford Bridge. Pochetino may have failed there last season, but skilled Career Mode managers should be able to flourish at Chelsea despite the high expectations.
Sporting CP
24-25 Season Transfer Budget: £22,924,808
Those hoping to build a team for the future while still experiencing some element of challenge should look no further than Sporting CP. The club’s squad is already full of exciting young starlets, particularly when it comes to center backs with high potential, but their current starting eleven is far from world-class. If properly nurtured, Sporting’s squad will be more than capable of competing at the highest level, although players may need to sell a player or two before they can properly invest in the team.
