Eidos Montréal has laid off 75 members of staff.
In a LinkedIn post, the company said that as “one of [its] mandates is coming to an end,” it had to “let go up to 75 valuable members,” adding: “It is not a reflection of their dedication or skills, but unfortunately, we don’t have the capacity to entirely reallocate them to our other ongoing projects and services.”
“These very talented, highly experienced experts are going to enter the employment market, and we are working to support them through this transition,” the statement added.
“Eidos-Montréal stays committed to deliver[ing] its other projects currently in development.”
Eidos was acquired by Embracer back in 2022, yet throughout 2023, the games firm laid off more than 900 people. Another 97 employees lost their jobs in January 2024.
Earlier today, we reported that Myst developer Cyan Worlds has also laid off half of its team.
