Genshin Impact: The Case of the Crafting Bench Quest Guide (Whoa! What A Twist! Achievement)

The Case of the Crafting Bench in Genshin Impact is a hidden quest that players can find in Natlan’s Stadium of the Sacred Flame. It’s a decently lengthy quest as it involves the case of a fake crafting bench, the accidents it’s caused, and a few challenges players have to complete to obtain testimonies from its victims.

Most of the challenges involve the use of a Saurian, and if players are yet to get comfy using these Natlan dragons, this quest is a great way to start. In addition to the various rewards players earn through the quest, Genshin Impact players can also obtain the hidden achievement: Whoa! What A Twist! upon completion.

The Case Of The Crafting Bench Quest Location In Genshin Impact

Players will need to teleport to the waypoint east of the Stadium of the Sacred Flame and head left to find the crafting bench. This is the waypoint at the entrance of the Stadium, so just turn around, head up the stairs, and turn left. Make your way down the pathway, sticking to your left until you come to a set of stairs going downward. Head down and go straight, you’ll see the crafting bench to your left.

Players will need to interact with the crafting bench to trigger the quest, and then they’ll meet Sumac.

Duel Against Sumac

Follow through the dialogue, and you’ll come to a point where Sumac requests you to fight her whilst she’s under the influence of a potion made from the crafting bench. This is pretty simple, so just head to the clearing and engage in battle. Afterward, you will be teleported back to the Stadium to check on Sumac’s condition, and a new NPC will appear.

The dialogue will be a little lengthier here as the three of you will need to figure out what’s wrong with the crafting bench and build a testimony to bring the owner’s negligence to action.

How To Collect The Testimonies And Complete All The Challenges

You’ll next have to go to the outdoor training grounds and find Ogun, who will be the first NPC you need to get a testimony from. But before that, he’ll require you to complete a challenge in which you will have to indwell a Tepetlisaurus.

Destroy All The Unstable Phlogiston Crystals

After talking to Ogun, you can start the challenge and use the Spiritsconce near the rock. Transform into the Tepetlisaurus and use its digging ability to dive into the ground and break all the Phlogiston Crystals. Some of the crystals can be a little tricky to find, and you might lose sight of them, so just follow the black dust and wait for the crystals to pop up from them. Completing the challenge will give a common chest as well.

Once you’re done, return to Ogun and talk to him to get the first testimonial.

Collect The Pyro Particles Challenge

The navigation will direct you to the next person you need to talk to — Pampa — and he will also ask you to complete a climbing challenge. You can use the Spiritsconce next to him and indwell a Yumkasaurus. Use its skill to climb the mountain, collecting all the Pyro particles along the way. Once you’re done, head back down to Pampa and collect his testimony. Completing this challenge will also give you a common chest.

Collect The Flowlight Orbs Challenge

Similar to the previous challenge, you need to head to Ameyalco Waters and find Anela. The quest navigation will show you the way, and after talking to her, she too will also request a challenge to be completed. You need to indwell the Koholasaurus using the Spiritsconce next to you and traverse the springs, collecting all the orbs.

There will be some instances where you need to use the Koholasaurus jumping ability on these whirlpools to propel you upwards. This will take you to the other side and back, as simply jumping normally does not work. You can also use the right click button (on PC), which is also the dash button, to speed up your movements in case you run out of time.

Completing the challenge will once again award you with a common chest, and Anela will give you her testimony.

Submit The Victims Testimonies

After you complete the last challenge, head back to the Stadium of the Sacred Flame and find Sumac. You need to wait two in-game days before heading to the training grounds and submitting the statements. Once you’re there, this will trigger a pretty long cutscene where you’ll have to watch a trial go on between the two parties. You will occasionally be called on to submit the testimonies and any evidence required.

Where To Find Tozan In Genshin Impact

Tozan ends up being quite the suspicious person, so you decide to follow him towards the Stadium of the Sacred Flame. Once you’re there, turn around and look for the footsteps in the mud. You need to follow these footsteps straight, keeping to your left until you come across a long-necked rhino. There will be a small cave up ahead behind it. A cutscene will play, and then you’ll have to fight Tozan and his twin.

The fight is pretty easy, so just defeat them and lock them up in the cages beside you. Finally, you can head back to the Stadium entrance to find the judge and report your findings. You’ll then be awarded the 30 Primogems and the hidden achievement: Whoa! What A Twist!
