Global mobile gaming revenue rose slightly to $81.8 billion in 2025, while non-game app consumer spending surged 21% to $85.6 billion.

That’s according to Sensor Tower’s State of Mobile 2026 report, which described 2025 as a “year of divergence in mobile gaming.”

There were no new games that surpassed $1 billion in revenue for the first time, with CapCut, WeTV, and ChatGPT leading the charge – the latter reaching over $3 billion in in-app purchases.

Overall, 18 apps reached over $1 billion in revenue last year, which was “evenly split between games and non-games.” Sensor Tower notes that Pokémon TCG Pocket is on track to secure over this revenue threshold in 2026.

Looking at genres, casual and mid-core remained the top earners while hybridcasual saw the highest increase in spending, growing 17.1% from $3.5 billion to $4.2 billion.

The strategy genre also saw downloads increase across Asia, North America, and Europe, with leading titles being Funfly’s Last War: Survival and Century Games’ Whiteout Survival.

Last War: Survival and White Survival were the top games globally in terms of revenue earned, followed by Dream Games’ Royal Match and Scopely’s Monopoly Go.

Tencent remained at the top spot for IAP publisher earnings at almost $8 billion, followed by Scopely and Century Games.

Elsewhere, Roblox captured 75% of all visits to game publisher websites last year. 90% of those visits were direct, while 5% came from organic searches.

However, Supercell’s web store experienced the most traffic, drawing in 1.5 billion visits.

Data from Sensor Tower’s State of Mobile report reflects iOS App Store and Google Play download and revenue estimates between January 1, 2024 and December 31, 2025.
