Halo Studios has announced it will be delivering the last major update to Halo Infinite this month.
As detailed in a blog post, the studio said it will be refocusing its team to the “multiple Halo title in development,” with Operation: Infinite being the “last major update currently planned” for the game.
“We’re fully committed to supporting players with exciting challenges, ranked rewards, and community events throughout next year and beyond,” it said.
“As the Halo Studios team shifts focus to in-development projects such as Halo: Campaign Evolved, we’d like to thank our Halo Infinite players for years of steadfast support.”
These challenges, ranked rewards, and community events will begin as Operation: Infinite launches on November 18, 2025.
In a 2020 interview with IGN, former Halo Infinite studio head Chris Lee cited Halo Infinite as “the start of our platform for the future”, being part of Microsoft’s 10-year plan for the title.
“We want Infinite to grow over time, versus going to those numbered titles and having all that segmentation that we had before,” Lee said.
“It’s really about creating Halo Infinite as the start of the next 10 years for Halo and then building that as we go with our fans and community.”
Announced in 2018, Halo Infinite was initially planned to be a console exclusive for Xbox Series X during the 2020 holiday season.
It was delayed into 2021 due to “multiple factors” including the COVID-19 pandemic, eventually launching on December 8 that year.
