Apple is rolling out iOS 26 with a bunch of new features for the iPhone. The biggest change you’ll see upon installing the update is Apple’s Liquid Glass redesign, introducing translucent buttons, sliders, tabs, and other navigational elements across the iPhone’s interface.
iOS 26 also includes Live Translation, an AI-powered feature that automatically translates texts in Messages, displays live captions on FaceTime, and provides spoken translations during phone calls or through your AirPods. You’ll also find a handy new feature that automatically answers calls from unknown numbers and allows you to screen text messages from people you might not know.
Some other small but notable upgrades coming with iOS 26 include typing indicators and polls in group chats, as well as the ability to set a background image for different conversations. Additionally, Apple will officially launch its Games app on the iPhone, serving as a central hub for its games and gaming features.
Apple is bringing its Liquid Glass design language to iPadOS 26, too, which rolls out today with new windowing features that should make the iPad better for multitasking by allowing you to resize and place apps anywhere on your screen. iPadOS 26 adds a Files and Preview app as well.
