New French mobile studio One Rule Games has successfully closed its seed funding round.
Led by venture capital firm Griffin Gaming Partners, One Rule Games said it’s ready “to accelerate [its] mission to build hybrid games that blend casual fun with deeper engagement for endless replayability.”
Based in Montpellier, France, the leadership team brings experience from Voodoo, Homa, and games such as Paper.io, Crowd City, and All in Hole and has been founded by “four industry veterans,” including CEO Alexander Willink.
Griffin Gaming Partners says it invested in the team based on “the founding team’s clear vision, strong product intuition, and to fuel the development of the next big hit in mobile games.”
“We’re excited to invest in One Rule Games, a leading 0-1 team in mobile gaming,” said Pierre Planche, partner at Griffin Gaming Partners. “The team has a rare ability to start from first principles and build with clarity, speed, and strong creative conviction. Their work also reflects the continued strength of the exceptional creative and technical talent emerging from France, and we believe they’re laying the foundation for a breakout mobile studio.”
“A huge thank you to our lead investor, Griffin Gaming Partners, and all the incredible backers who believe in our vision,” said Willink. “With this capital, we’re accelerating our mission to create games that blend casual fun with deeper engagement for endless replayability.”
