Scopely’s Monopoly Go has topped $6 billion revenue, making it the fastest mobile game in history to do so.
Monopoly Go surpassed $5bn in its opening two years, and this time last year, Hasbro’s financials revealed that its digital and licensed gaming revenue increase by 22% year-over-year to $471.7 million, with $112 million alone of that coming from Scopely’s Monopoly Go.
Now, data from Sensor Tower (thanks, PocketGamer.biz) shows the title hit the milestone in a record three and a half years: 1275 days, to be precise. And while its not the first game to reached the milestone, it is the fastest; Mixi’s Monster Strike took 1673 days, and Tencent’s Honor of Kings took 1762.
In fact, Sensor Tower claims that from its release in 2023 it became the biggest casual game by worldwide revenue, by 2024 it was the biggest by in-app purchase revenue, is the top mobile IP by revenue for the Monopoly IP, and was the top tabletop-themed game by worldwide in-app purchase revenue by 2025.
Crucially, Sensor Tower’s estimates do not account for advertising revenue, direct-to-consumer sales, or any other revenue sources, so actual revenue is likely much higher than that.
“No other title has reached the $6 billion lifetime IAP milestone this quickly,” Sensor Tower’s Sam Aune said. “The game’s trajectory marks a defining moment for the category, establishing Monopoly Go as a transformative release that pushed its genre forward, elevated the Monopoly franchise globally, and accelerated Scopely’s rise into the industry’s upper tier.
“The speed of its rise is unprecedented – even among the most successful games ever released,” the analyst added. “The game’s days-to-$6 billion curve sits well ahead of legacy top-grossers such as Monster Strike, Honor of Kings, Royal Match, and Clash of Clans. According to Scopely, the game continues to generate approx. $200 million per month, underscoring the sustained, global momentum behind the title.”
Scopely claims Monopoly Go continues to generate around $200 million a month.
