I sleep on a lot of sheets. I’ve tested nearly 100 different sets over the past two years of testing bedding for WIRED, and there are some easy favorites I always come back to. One of my favorites as a hot sleeper are Slumber Cloud’s Performance Tencel Sheets ($187, down from $249) that perfectly blend cooling technology with Tencel lyocell fabric to make for a fantastic sheet that actually keeps you cool.

If you’re sweating at night and struggling to find a solution beyond blasting the AC all night, these sheets are a perfect option to try, especially since they’re on sale. There are very few sheet sets I’ve tried that can actually deliver on cooling technology promises, so don’t miss these.

Looking for more deals? Check out our Absolute Best Prime Day Deals roundup, and don’t miss our Prime Day liveblog for the best highlights from the sale event.

Slumber Cloud

Performance Tencel Sheet Set

Slumber Cloud’s sheets are a blend of Tencel lyocell, which is a fiber that has a smooth and cooling touch to it, and Slumber Cloud’s patented Outlast fiber, which uses phase change material (PCM) gel to absorb heat. I’ve tried sheets that promise to use PCM before to keep me cool, and again and again it’s failed. But not with these sheets. The Outlast fiber design really does leave me feeling cooler, even after my 3-year-old and cat crawl into my bed and add their body heat to the mix.

It also helps that these sheets are still light and breathable, which is the most consistent way to actually stay cool at night. It was a surprise for me to find out these are sateen sheets with a four-over-one thread structure, since they feel like a silky lightweight percale (which has a one-over-one thread structure). Four-over-one designs usually lead to less breathability, but once again, Slumber Cloud’s sheets beat the usual roadblocks I’ve had with both sateen and PCM sheets.

Slumber Cloud’s sale runs through midnight tonight. It’s not limited to these sheets, either. Slumber Cloud makes some great cooling pillows—including our favorite cooling travel pillow, the Slumber Cloud UltraCool Travel Pillow ($34, down from $49)—that are perfect to snag for summertime heat.
