Key Takeaways
- There is a big possibility that Star Wars Outlaws will receive DLC in the future.
- It’s unclear what this DLC is going to be, but it could range from new items to brand-new story beats and campaigns.
- From potential multiplayer features to simple quality-of-life changes, the options for Star Wars Outlaws DLC are numerous.
There are a few different versions of Star Wars Outlaws to buy digitally not to mention physically. For example, there are hints there will be DLC down the line because there is a Season Pass. This could mean anything from new equipment to new ships to full-blown new campaigns.
It’s hard to see what the DLC plans for Star Wars Outlaws will be as it ultimately depends on how well the game does. After all, DLC plans get canceled all the time like with Final Fantasy 15. Let’s not think about that RPG and instead envision what DLC plans could look like for Star Wars Outlaws.
6 Steal Other Vehicles
Turn Star Wars Outlaws Into GTA
The Speeder bike that unlocks in Star Wars Outlaws once players get to Toshara is pretty fast. Later upgrades can make it go faster, have it go over water, and it can jump too like it was possessed by the spirit of Mario. This is the only rideable surface vehicle in the game.
It’s a bit sad knowing that there are other vehicles on these planets from car-like devices to different styles of Speeders and players cannot jack them like in Grand Theft Auto. That would be a cool feature to add which would coincide with the Galactic Empire’s wanted levels in Star Wars Outlaws. It would also be great if Ubisoft gave Kay some sort of glider like in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to leap off of cliffs with or some sort of hookshot to make scaling walls faster.
5 Add Multiplayer Heists
Could Be Another Nod To GTA
Adding heists would be like another nod to Grand Theft Auto. The main plot revolves around Kay getting a band together to pull off the heist of the century. There is an online aspect to the game but there are no connective components visible to players.
It feels like a missed opportunity not to include heists or some sort of other multiplayer factor at launch. Pulling off a heist on Earth is one thing in Grand Theft Auto but pulling off a heist in space with a dedicated crew would be out of this world. Maybe that idea is already in the works but either way, this is a solid mode to consider. It would also be unique to include co-op and to allow a second player to control Nix in a limited capacity during the main story.
4 Bring Back Boba Fett For A Duel
More Bounty Hunters Will Surely Come After Kay
There are a lot of cameos in Star Wars Outlaws from Lando Calrissian to Jabba the Hutt. One of the easiest-to-miss cameos is Boba Fett who can be seen talking to someone through a vent in Jabba’s Palace. He doesn’t say anything, but it is implied he is there to go after a bounty for Jabba.
In the main game, there is a bounty hunter chasing after Kay named Vail Tormin. It’s because Sliro Barsha put a Death Mark on her, which is how bounty hunters know who is the most wanted. While that is implied to be removed by the end of Star Wars Outlaws, someone could put it back in DLC. The DLC episode could then revolve around Kay trying to shake off and fight other bounty hunters including Boba Fett and IG-88 who are not in the game yet.
3 Upgrade Disposable Weapons
Give Kay A Better Arsenal
Kay is armed with her trusty Blaster that her mother left behind. Players can add Modules to it in Star Wars Outlaws to give it different effects like a laser that can stun enemies or one that can explode walls. Players can also pick up disposable weapons from enemies from Gatling Guns to sniper rifles. The Blaster, with its Modules, and these disposable weapons is fun to use but Ubisoft could expand Kay’s arsenal more.
They could add a way for players to keep one disposable weapon at all times or until players manually discard it. As it stands, disposable weapons get flopped around easily from climbing ladders to rolling around which can be frustrating during unavoidable conflicts. It would also be ideal if they added more silent weapons disposable or not.
2 Expand Planets Or Add New Ones
From Bespin To Kijimi
There are four planets in Star Wars Outlaws that players can bop around to including Akiva, Kijimi, Tatooine, and Toshara. They offer players a substantial set of open-world areas to explore all except for Kijimi. On that frozen planet, players only get to explore a city freely which is fairly large to its credit.
It would be interesting to see Ubisoft expand Kijimi to offer players some tundra to traverse. Maybe they can even get a snow attachment for their Speeder to make cruising on the white powder easier. Besides expansions, Ubisoft should add more planets too like Bespin, home to the famous Cloud City which is absolutely teaming with lowlifes. That or Coruscant would be great planets to see in a DLC expansion storyline.
1 Quality Of Life Improvements
From Saves To Fast Travel
There are several features that players would seemingly love to see added through patches, but not so much paid DLC sooner rather than later. For example, Ubisoft put a limit on when and where players can save. This sort of goes against most stealth games that allow players to save scum their way through an experience. Lifting that limit would be helpful for those struggling.
There is a decent map in the game along with markers, but there’s no direct waypoint system akin to Dead Space or Grand Theft Auto. A lighted arrow showing the exact route players should take to a mission area would be helpful as sometimes the way can be obscure, especially in mountainous regions. Fast travel is also pretty limiting with very few spots set up for players, leading to a lot of unnecessary backtracking. Adding more fast travel spots and waypoint guidelines would go a long way to making Star Wars Outlaws better.
