Star Wars Outlaws: All Nix Treats, Ranked

In Star Wars Outlaws, many players will likely feel that Nix – Kay’s merqual sidekick – is the true star of the show. Aside from being generally adorable, Nix has a wide range of skills that prove to be essential to Kay’s success. While there are a limited number of methods to improve Nix’s abilities, one method proves to be one of the best pieces of side-content in Star Wars Outlaws. Hidden away on each planet, Kay will find Galactic Street Food vendors. Each vendor creates a unique dish, which plays out in a remarkably entertaining mini-game. Once complete, the process will unlock a special perk for Kay’s partner known as a Nix Treat.

Nix Treats are special equippable items in Star Wars Outlaws. They function similar to charms, providing Nix with a distinct perk meant to bolster one aspect of his combat abilities. Overall, there are only 4 different Nix Treats, making this mechanic feel slightly under-cooked. However, the process of acquiring each treat alone makes the endeavor worth it, and the best treats can be very helpful. This guide will show players where to find each Nix Treat and Street Food Vendor, and rank the treats from worst to best.

Where to Find Every Nix Treat in Star Wars Outlaws

Street Food vendors sell the dishes that go on to become Nix Treats in Star Wars Outlaws. There are four vendors overall, one for each of Star Wars Outlaws’ four main planets. When Kay first arrives on a planet, the vendors will be marked by a question mark on the compass, like any other new POI. Generally speaking, the Street Food vendors are found in the bustling market areas in a city or town. Once discovered, each vendor will charge Kay 200 credits to prepare their signature dish.

4. Sketto Chuga

Where to Find Sketto Chuga:

• Sketto Chuga is the Nix Treat found on Tatooine, in the city of Mos Eisley.
• The Galactic Street Food stand is found in the Mos Eisley Bazaar
• If you come from the west side of the city, look for the corridor shown in the image above. That will lead you down into the bazaar.

This spicy dish causes Nix to have a new attack function, essentially putting enemies into a ‘berserk’ mode, attacking anything around them. While this treat can have fun results, and can potentially help if Kay is already in all-out combat, it does nothing to help Kay avoid combat. This treat seems designed to amuse, as there is very little in the way of actual assistance it offers. More often than not, the affected enemy will not hit anything with their shots. In a game that places so much emphasis on stealth, it is hard to argue that this Nix Treat should rank higher.

3. Kurado Fruit Platter

Where to Find Kurado Fruit Platter:

• The Kurado Fruit is the Nix Treat found on Akiva, in the city of Myrra.
• Head east from the spaceport into the crowded market area. Kay will mention that ‘something smells good.‘ Check the compass for a question mark, then head to the closest one. You’ll find the food stand easily this way.

If you find yourself unable to dispatch an enemy during the distraction window Nix provides by default, then this Nix Treat may prove useful. However, the Duradan Soup’s ability to distract multiple enemies at once is far more useful. There may be specific circumstances in which Kay would benefit from longer distractions, but when it comes to picking the best ‘stealth’ based Nix Treat, the Kurado Fruit is simply lacking.

2. Duradan Soup

Where to Find Duradan Soup:

• The Duradan Soup is the Nix Treat found on Kijimi, in Kijimi City.
• The Duradan Soup stand is found in the heart of the city, where multiple roads converge. See the map above for the exact location.

One of the toughest aspects of Star Wars Outlaws’ stealth gameplay is dealing with multiple enemies at once. During the larger infiltration missions, Kay will be faced with larger groups of enemies, and distracting one is not going to do much. The Duradan Soup’s perk can be extremely helpful in these situations, allowing Nix to distract small groups.

This can also be helpful in stealth combat. Unlike the characters in Ubisoft’s biggest franchise, Kay is never able to learn an ability that allows her to use takedown on multiple enemies at once. The Duradan Soup treat helps immensely in filling this void, allowing Kay to use Nix to distract multiple enemies, making it much safer to attempt multiple takedowns.

If Kay prepares properly, Duradan Soup’s negative aspect – forcing Nix to get closer to enemies to distract them – will not be much of an obstacle. Ensure that Kay is well-hidden before setting up Nix’s placement, and the distance issue will not make any real difference. Overall, Duradan Soup is clearly the better choice for stealth gameplay.

1. Che Mosskà

• Che Mosskà is the Nix Treat found on Toshara, in the city of MIrogana.

In all likelihood, Che Mosskà will be the first Nix Treat players will stumble across, and for many, they’ll never switch it out for anything else. Despite the fact that Star Wars Outlaws tries to force stealth on players through much of the game, more often than not, there will be missions that devolve into absolute chaos. In these situations, Che Mosskà seems to have the best practical application. Once combat starts, enemies are going to throw grenades, and this treat turns Nix into a defensive beast. Players will really not have to think about it, Nix will just take care of it on his own. Because of this, it’s hard to make the argument that the extremely limited help offered by Sketto Chuga is better than what this treat offers.

In many ways, Duradan Soup could take the top spot. For those players that do remain in stealth, that treat will appear to have far more value than any other. For this reason, this list, like most lists, is entirely subjective. How you play Star Wars Outlaws will ultimately affect which Nix Treat you think is best.
