Nexon subsidiary Neople has “reorganised its teams” as The First Berserker: Khazan “enters its final stage.” No layoffs resulted from this restructuring.

A Nexon representative confirmed the decision to PC Gamer, stating that Neople aims to “allocate resources more effectively across current and upcoming projects, including Dungeon & Fighter franchise games for global markets.”

“This adjustment is a strategic reallocation of talent, not a workforce reduction or team dissolution, supporting live service operations and future initiatives across Neople and Nexon affiliates.”

Earlier reports from Yonhap News (via GamesRadar) suggested the restructuring was prompted by poor sales of The First Berserker: Khazan.

In a capital markets briefing last month, Nexon CEO Junghun Lee said it was preparing for the game’s China launch, “which will further validate its long-term potential.” Yonhap News reported that this delay impacted game sales.

During an earnings call last year, Nexon said that while Q1 revenue for the game fell short of its outlook, it “achieved our objective as a strategic first step in a multi-year plan to introduce Dungeon & Fighter IP to a global audience.”
