The Top Five most played games on PlayStation 5 in the US for 2025 were the same as in 2024, with Fortnite in the top spot.
That’s according to Circana’s player engagement tracker, with Call of Duty coming in second followed by Grand Theft Auto 5, Roblox, and Minecraft.
The same games were in the Xbox Top Five most played games in 2025, with Call of Duty beating Fortnite to No.1.
Looking at the week ending December 27th, almost one of every three people in the US that played on PlayStation or Xbox booted up Fortnite at least once.
Fortnite was also top of the charts for PlayStation and Xbox, while Embark Studios’ Arc Raiders took first place on Steam.
Arc Raiders passed seven million copies sold on Steam earlier this week (January 5), according to data from Alinea Analytics shared exclusively with GamesIndustry.biz.
More than 18% of Arc Raiders players on Steam have spent more than 100 hours in-game, while 0.25% have played for over 500 hours – a share that increased over the holiday period.
An estimated 26% of those who played Arc Raiders on Steam also played Helldivers 2.
Alinea Analytics noted that crossover between games is higher among PS5 players at 40% and lower for Xbox at 21%.
Overall, Arc Raiders has sold over 12 million copies and topped 3.2 million daily active users across all platforms, according to Alinea Analytics’ recent estimates.
