Veteran voice actor and long-time voice of Ratchet & Clank’s Captain Qwark, Jim Ward, has died aged 66.
Stephanie Miller, his long-time co-host of The Stephanie Miller Show, broke the news on social media, writing: “One of the saddest messages I have ever received from the amazing Mrs Jim Ward: Our wonderful ‘voice deity’ as Steph anointed Jim Ward, passed away [December 10] at 10:45am.”
Ward had worked with Miller since 2004.
Alongside a substantial voice career in TV and film, Ward was a prolific actor for video games, lending his voice to scores of games, including Fallout 4, Dota 2, Marvel Heroes, Metal Gear, Diablo 3, Guild Wars 2, Call of Duty, and a number of Ratchet & Clank games, except for the latest title, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart, for which Ward was unable to perform due to Alzheimer’s disease.
Ward’s final video game credit was for 2022’s Quake Champions.
