Last night saw the reveal of this year’s GamesIndustry.biz Best Places To Work Awards UK, which returned to the Royal Institution in London at the end of the GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit. The awards were generously sponsored by Amiqus, Playground Games, IO Interactive, Games London and Special Effect.
The awards are issued based on the feedback of each company’s employees, collected via anonymous survey, which make up 80% of each firm’s score. The remaining 20% is based on submissions from each company outlining their internal policies. There are also a series of special awards, judged by the GamesIndustry.biz editorial team, and the G into Gaming award presented by Liz Prince MBE of Amiqus.
While the last year has continued to be marked by layoffs, closures and job losses, this year’s submissions showed that the UK’s games businesses continually striving to support their staff, with employees highlighting the policies, provisions and individual team members that made the industry a better place to work. Some categories were extremely close, and showed the degree to which provision for issues such as mental health, environmental sustainability and education and mentoring has become commonplace in the UK games industry.
Below is the gallery showing each of our winners at yesterday’s ceremony.
Thanks again to our sponsors Amiqus, Playground Games, IO Interactive, Games London and Special Effect. The Best Places to Work Awards will return in 2027; those wishing to sponsor or otherwise support the awards should contact [email protected].
