Pokémon TCG Valentine’s Day Set Reportedly Releasing in 2027

The Pokémon Company is intending to launch the franchise’s very first dedicated Valentine’s Day collection on January 27, 2027, according to a recent report from Pokébeach.

While the Valentine set is yet to be officially confirmed, the leaks reportedly suggest that the “Pokémon TCG Valentine’s Box” will be similar in practice to the popular Trick or Trade Halloween series, rather than a full expansion release like Pokémon TCG’s Delta Reign or Chaos Rising expansions.

These seasonal sets typically come in compact foil packs containing three cards, alongside sticker sheets. The Halloween releases were given their own pumpkin-stamped Pikachu, so I’d put good money on the Valentine’s version getting some kind of suitably pink Pika stamp.

Pokémon TCG Trick or Trade BOOster Bundles

The Trick or Trade range was originally designed as a way for kids to hand out Pokémon cards while trick-or-treating, effectively giving them a Pokémon-themed alternative to candy. Given how expensive some Halloween sweets have become, perhaps the cards aren’t such a bad substitute.

The reported Valentine’s Box appears to be taking a similar approach, with the packaging and packs seemingly designed around giving cards to friends or handing them out in the classroom. The box is also apparently designed to fold into a little cardboard mailbox, allowing cards to be handed out to classmates in the same way kids might exchange Valentine’s cards at school.

That’s a cute idea, although given the current state of the Pokémon TCG market, I’m not entirely convinced every box will make it into the hands of an actual child.

Previous seasonal releases have generally focused on reprinted cards rather than introducing a bunch of new full-art cards, but that hasn’t stopped sealed products from holding surprisingly strong secondary-market value. The Trick or Trade BOOster Bundle (last seen in 2025), for example, contains 40 mini packs with three cards apiece, and currently has a market value of around $75.99 at TCGplayer.

That makes the potential Valentine’s release one to keep an eye on, particularly if it proves to be another limited seasonal product. Previous holiday releases have sold out well ahead of launch, so the real competition could come when preorders eventually open.

There’s also currently no word on which Pokémon will take centre stage in the mini set. My vote would be Enamorus, although Fairy-type Pokémon aren’t currently part of the TCG’s standard format… Yet.

I’d also love to see Sylveon – its pink color scheme and cute ribbons would be perfect. Plus, it evolves by friendship! Other options could be Audino and Blissey, since both are linked with care and kindness – qualities that suit Valentine’s Day well- or even Pikachu in loveheart-themed clothing might also show up.

Sylveon would also be an obvious choice. Its pink colour scheme and ribbons are practically made for Valentine’s Day, while the fact that it evolves through friendship feels particularly appropriate. Audino and Blissey could also fit the theme nicely given their associations with care and kindness, while a loveheart-themed Pikachu would hardly come as a surprise.
