I have just been informed that many people find it difficult to get excited about socks. Madness. To help bring you around to my point of view, that socks can be exciting, some of the best socks you can buy are currently on sale. How’s that for exciting?
Socks are one of life’s essential things, and great socks are something worth getting excited about. Socks live a hard life, they’re crammed in shoes, soak up foot sweat all day, and then get separated from their loved ones somewhere between the start of the wash and the end of the dryer. That’s not an easy existence and then you top it off with fact that most people don’t even care about you? Rough.
I have an answer for you though, which just might get you excited about socks. First. Merino wool. That’s a requirement. The higher percentage merino the better. Merino wool is antimicrobial, meaning your socks don’t smell at the end of the day. It’s also good at wicking sweat to keep your feet dry, and thermoregulation, meaning your feet don’t get too hot when it’s hot or too cold when it’s cold (well, within reason).
But here’s the kicker, Darn Tough makes great merino wool socks that can do all these things and comes with a lifetime guarantee.
I don’t know if Darn Tough’s merino wool socks can save your socks from the hard life socks have to live, but I do know they’re comfortable, stand up to considerable abuse, and they have some of the highest merino wool content of any socks I’ve tested. They also come in a nearly endless array of fun colors and designs.
And I know what you’re thinking: A lifetime warranty on socks is madness. There are no socks that can go forever without getting a hole in them. This is probably true. On a long enough timeline, all socks get holes, but, and this is a big but, I have never had a pair of Darn Tough socks develop a hole, and I have been wearing several pairs for over five years now. There’s a reason they’re in our buy it for life guide. Don’t worry though, my wife wore a hole in a pair of hers, and we shipped them off, and Darn Tough replaced them no questions asked. The warranty is real, and WIRED-tested.
