An Itch.io charity bundle supporting industry workers affected by layoffs in the US and Canada is close to reaching its $200,000 goal.
Necrosoft Games is hosting the bundle, offering 127 titles for a minimum price of $10.
As of now, the bundle has raised over $169,000 with seven days left. The offer ends August 13.
Proceeds from the bundle will support a hardship fund created by the United Videogame Workers (UVW-CWA) union, which launched on July 6.
The fund is supported by UVW-CWA membership fees and offers two tiers: the Small Fund, providing up to $1,000, and the Major Expenses Tier, offering $1,000 to $5,000.
The UVW-CWA hardship fund is available to anyone affected by layoffs or related hardships, regardless of union membership.
Recipients may use the funds for work-related or personal expenses, such as groceries, rent, medical bills, and moving costs.
Bethesda Game Studios union OneBGS recently reported that a member used the hardship fund to cover moving expenses after mass layoffs at Xbox impacted 440 union members.
