With Gamescom 2026 less than a week away, the event will host nearly 50 pavilions from 40 countries, up 25% and 14% over 2025, respectively.

This year, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Hungary, Morocco, and Nigeria joined as new exhibitors. In 2025, 35 countries participated with 40 stands.

Over 1,600 exhibitors from 67 countries will attend Gamescom this year. Exhibitor registrations set a new record for the third consecutive year when tickets went on sale in March.

All 233,000 square meters of exhibition space sold out by July. This includes the largest indie area to date, featuring over 420 companies, a 16% increase from 2025.

Gamescom Dev, held before Gamescom, will feature over 380 speakers across 230 sessions on 18 stages. The initial lineup of speakers included representatives from Sony Interactive Entertainment, Ubisoft, Insomniac Games, CD Projekt Red, and Epic Games.

“With Gamescom 2026 just days away, the outlook couldn’t be better,” said German Games Industry Association (Game) managing director Felix Falk. “Even more exhibitors from 67 countries, a new record number of country pavilions, a sold-out show floor and the biggest indie area to date – this year’s games highlight promises to be an unforgettable week that captures the incredible diversity of games culture.”

“What’s more, the event will also feature political firsts, including a visit from Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier. We in the games industry, together with the community, are looking forward to a truly exceptional games festival – on-site in Germany and via livestream to fans around the world.”

Koelnmesse GmbH president and CEO Gerald Böse added: “In 2026, Gamescom is proving its economic significance once again – not just for Germany as a games location, but also for Europe and the entire global industry.

“The strong demand reflects the vital role that gamescom plays for companies, institutions and the worldwide community. We’re looking forward to a week packed with networking, business talks, premieres, a varied program and the community energy that makes gamescom unique all over the world.”

Gamescom 2026 will take place from August 26 to 30, preceded by Gamescom Dev (formerly Devcom) from August 23 to 25.
