Konami has announced the shut down Castlevania: Grimoire of Souls next month.
The Apple Arcade-exclusive will be removed from the service on August 20 and will go offline entirely on September 3. After this date, the game will not be playable.
“Since its launch on Apple Arcade in September 2021, the game has continued to be supported by many players,” Konami said on its website. “However, we have decided to terminate the service [in September].”
“We would like to express our gratitude to all of our players for their enthusiastic support throughout the years. The entire development and operations team sincerely thanks you for being part of this journey.”
Grimoire of Souls first launched in September 2019 as a free-to-play title for iOS and Android in Canada. It was discontinued a year later, then relaunched on iOS, tvOS, iPadOS, and Mac through Apple Arcade.
Upon re-release, Konami removed in-game currency and microtransactions, revised layouts, and improved graphics.
Grimoire of Souls is among several games scheduled to go offline in the coming months.
Mario Kart Tour will shut down in September, followed by Looney Tunes: World of Mayhem in October and Destruction AllStars in November.
