Nvidia used Gamescom to detail a wave of developer-facing updates across DLSS, RTX, and its GeForce Now cloud platform.
DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is now available via the Nvidia app for all GeForce RTX GPUs, built on a second-generation transformer model Nvidia says improves image quality in ray- and path-traced games by unifying “denoising and Super Resolution into a single model.”
It also supports 30 titles at launch, including Cyberpunk 2077, Alan Wake 2, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Developers can also add it to their own games “via official updates.”
The rollout comes as Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang pushes back on separate criticism of DLSS 5, unveiled earlier this week and accused by some critics of adding an AI sheen to character models at the expense of artistic control.
Asked about the backlash at the time, Huang said critics were “completely wrong,” arguing that DLSS 5 “fuses controllability of the geometry and textures and everything about the game with generative AI” while leaving “direct control” with the developer. DLSS 5 has support from Bethesda, Capcom, NetEase, NCSoft, Tencent, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros Games.
Nvidia also confirmed new publisher support for RTX Spark, its upcoming Windows platform combining DLSS and Reflex with on-device AI agents, arriving this fall. Electronic Arts, Embark Studios, and Ubisoft are bringing titles including EA Sports F1 25, Apex Legends, and Arc Raiders, joining Krafton, NetEase, Riot Games, and Xbox, which signed on at Computex in May. Nvidia said it has also worked with EA to bring native support for its Javelin anti-cheat system to the platform.
Gears of War: E-Day, slated to launch on October 6, will introduce RTX Mega Geometry, letting Unreal Engine 5’s Nanite geometry system render at full detail in ray tracing for the first time.
Nvidia said the technique, the product of six years of R&D, will be adopted into Microsoft’s DirectX Raytracing 2.0 standard, extending ray-traced Nanite support to any UE5 title.
Remedy’s Control Resonant “launches with the complete DLSS 4.5 suite, including Ray Reconstruction and Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, plus path-traced effects building on the ray-traced tech from the original Control,” while IO Interactive’s 007 First Light adds path tracing and Ray Reconstruction on September 15.
Nvidia also listed DLSS 4.5 or ray-tracing support arriving in eight further titles, including Aion 2, Black State, and Ananta.
RTX Remix, Nvidia’s path-tracing modding toolkit, gained support for DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction and Multi Frame Generation, alongside a new Painkiller RTX update remastering its first 15 levels and a newly revealed Morrowind RTX mod covering the game’s Seyda Neen and Balmora areas.
On GeForce Now, Nvidia announced GOG single sign-on and official Firefox support, both live now, alongside expanded Steam Machine, Steam Controller, and Fire TV compatibility rolling out later this year. Day-one streaming will also cover titles including Control Resonant and Gears of War: E-Day.
Nvidia’s hardware partners also used the show to unveil new displays, including AGON by AOC’s first 5K G-SYNC Pulsar monitor.
