Kinetic Publishing, the publishing label founded by Phasmophobia developer Kinetic Games, will reveal the first games signed to the label at a showcase on August 12.

The Kinetic Publishing Showcase will be narrated by Ben Starr, known for his roles in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Final Fantasy 16, and produced by DoubleJump. It will confirm release windows and platform details for a first wave of titles ahead of launches planned for 2027 and 2028.

Kinetic Publishing launched in January, founded by Phasmophobia creator Daniel Knight. At launch, he and director of marketing and partnerships Asim Tanvir said the label was self-funded, with no outside shareholders or investors, and planned to back two to three indie projects a year, with funding ranging from a few hundred thousand pounds up to £1 million depending on a project’s needs. Knight said the goal was to offer the kind of support he wished he’d had when he began developing Phasmophobia solo in 2020.

“Launching Kinetic Publishing is about creating the kind of support Dan would’ve appreciated when starting out,” Tanvir said. “Since announcing Kinetic Publishing earlier this year, we’ve had hundreds of submissions, and had the pleasure of meeting some of the most passionate and creative indie teams across the globe.”

Chris Rose, publishing production manager at Kinetic Publishing, added: “We’ve been blown away by the projects we’ve seen since Kinetic Publishing began. From cosy to sci-fi and horror, and everything in between, our goal is to help developers realise their vision and give them the support to succeed.”

The showcase will stream on Kinetic Publishing’s Twitch channel at 8pm BST on August 12, with co-streaming partners to be confirmed.

Phasmophobia has sold more than 27 million copies since its 2020 launch, up from the 25 million reported at Kinetic Publishing’s launch in January.
