We are delighted to confirm the first round of facilitated discussion sessions at this year’s GamesIndustry.biz HR Summit, sponsored by Amiqus, which will be held next month at the Royal Institution in London.

Guided by our advisory board of industry experts, this year’s event includes a series of dedicated learning and discussion sessions addressing the most important issues facing people professionals in games workplaces today. Each session will include a subject matter expert and a dedicated facilitator, to ensure effective discussion resulting in practical insights for attendees.

They join a packed day with a particular focus on People and Workplaces, addressing both present issues and future tactics for building the next generation of games workplaces, able to deliver success in a rapidly-evolving industry.

The morning sessions include:

  • Preparing Your People Strategy for AI – As AI begins to change not just how people work, but the work organisations need people to do, this session will go beyond the simple need for policies and explore how to identify required skills, the balance between recruiting new talent and reskilling existing talent, and the importance of employee trust, engagement and communication on what remains a highly controversial topic.
  • AI in Employment Relations – discussing the AI-derived issues that modern workplaces are starting to encounter, the risks that some may present, and practical advice on how to handle it.
  • Managing neurodiversity in the workplace – with understanding and expectations around neurodivergence becoming increasingly well-established, this session will discuss common issues and practical approaches to supporting performance, making adjustments and helping managers lead neurodiverse teams.
  • Beyond Resilience: Supervision for HR Leaders – People professionals are the first staff called to resolve workplace issues, but don’t always receive direct support themselves. This session will discuss common issues and methods for creating space for reflection, better judgement and sustainable people leadership.

These will follow our opening speaker sessions by Sasi Venables of the HR Confidence Club and veteran industry people expert Niki Head.

The afternoon sessions will be dedicated to building effective people strategies, with first-hand insights from studio leaders and people leaders at key UK studios. Those sessions will be announced next week.

Tickets for the HR summit, which include lunch and access to the Best Places To Work Awards UK, can be purchased here.
