Krafton experienced record second-quarter growth, with revenue rising 94.9% to ₩1.29 trillion ($889.1 million), while operating profit also rose 67% to ₩410.9 billion ($283.1 million).

The Korean developer attributed this growth to the success of Unknown Worlds’ Subnautica 2 and the ongoing expansion of its PUBG franchise.

Subnautica 2 launched in Early Access in May and surpassed five million units sold within 22 days. First-half revenue for the IP, which includes Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero, reached ₩232.5 billion ($160.2 million).

Krafton settled its lawsuit with the former leadership team of Unknown Worlds near the end of the quarter and agreed to pay the disputed $250 million bonus. You can read more on the legal dispute via our timeline here.

PUBG revenue rose 25% year-over-year, as Krafton continues to expand the franchise by developing a central gameplay platform and pursuing additional “cultural collaborations” with other IP and brands.

Subnautica and PUBG were the primary drivers of PC revenue growth, which surpassed ₩500 billion ($344.4 million) for the first time.

Console revenue rose 143.3% year-over-year to ₩23.8 billion ($16.3 million), while mobile revenue increased slightly by 5.5% to ₩451 billion ($310.7 million).

Looking ahead, Krafton plans to announce five new titles at Gamescom next month, all scheduled for release by 2027. These include a new project based on the PUBG IP alongside No Law, Project Zeta, Age Twisters, and Tarae: The Unbound.

Earlier this year, the developer said it had 26 games in development, with 12 set to launch within the next two years.

“We will remain focused on Krafton’s core gaming business as we begin to move into the execution phase of producing new titles,” said Krafton CEO CH Kim.

“While expanding the PUBG IP franchise as a content platform, we will begin to create franchise IPs via our new title pipeline and creative leadership.”
