LEGO’s Animal Crossing set that lets you construct your own version of Blathers’s Museum is a whopping 41% off on Amazon right now. This is a particularly fun build for anyone who, like myself, has dedicated concerning amounts of time and the occasional spreadsheet to helping Blathers complete his collections of bones and critters.
We rarely see any LEGO set getting a discount above 20% off, so this is a particularly good deal. According to the tracking tool camelcamelcamel, it’s the lowest price ever for the set.

Blathers’s Museum Collection is one of quite a few Animal Crossing LEGO sets. It comes with two minifigures: the studious owl himself, Blathers, as well as the particularly beloved villager Lily. Both of these characters have appeared in every core Animal Crossing game, but their specific designs in plastic brick form, like much of the set, take specific reference from New Horizons, the most recent game in the cozy series
The main feature of the set is the museum itself, which is pretty much identical to the facility you build in-game — from the front, at least. The museum can actually “open” from the back, revealing three different rooms that reflect the main collections you help Blathers build up: fossils, fish, and bugs. There’s also a mini version of Brewster’s cafe, The Roost.
Outside of the museum, you can build smaller areas from your “island,” as well as tools you’d need to use them, including a fishing rod for, ya know, fishing, and a shovel to dig up fossils. Speaking of fossils, you also get to build a completed version of the Triceratops, which involves quite a few more pieces than it takes to build in New Horizons. Funny enough, the completed fossil set seems a bit too big to actually fit in the LEGO museum.
The Animal Crossing collection is part of a pretty extensive relationship between LEGO and Nintendo, which includes plenty of Mario sets, a couple of Zelda sets, and, most recently, tons of Pokemon.
On the gaming side of things, we still haven’t heard anything about a new Animal Crossing game for the Switch 2, though New Horizons did just get a pretty massive update. In the meantime, I’d argue Pokemon Pokopia and Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream are also very capable of scratching the cozy itch.

With LEGO’s explosive popularity, the unfortunate reality is that sets are becoming more expensive than ever. Its not necessarily that LEGO is hiking prices, though. As LEGO becomes more popular with adults, the sets just include more pieces. LEGO itself has stayed pretty loyal to its “10 cents per brick” pricing model, which makes it pretty easy to tell when you’re getting a good deal.
With this particular set coming in at 543 pieces, its usual price of $79.99 equals a slightly pricey 14 cents per brick. With Amazon’s current discount, however, you’re paying less than 8 cents per brick. We call that an absolute steal in the world of LEGO.
