Magic: The Gathering’s Marvel Super Heroes crossover set is right around the corner, and with it comes a brand new edition of Jumpstart with 51 different theme packs to mash together. We’ve got an exclusive first look at every single one of those themes, as well as over 180 brand new cards that will be available in their packs and over 60 reprints only available in this Jumpstart release.

We’ve got a lot to get through, so let’s start with a look at all of the totally new cards, which you can flip through in the image gallery below:

Every New Card In Marvel Super Heroes Jumpstart – Magic: The Gathering

Jumpstart has always been one of the easiest and most accessible ways to dip a toe into Magic, letting you shuffle two themed packs together to instantly make a 40 card deck that will match up nicely against an opponent who does the same. You don’t know which themes you’ll get from a given booster, which means you could be mixing a Fantastic Four pack with Dr. Doom himself, or the Agents of Shield with the Young Avengers.

Marvel Super Heroes Jumpstart has 51 themes to find, each with a unique list of cards that’s a mix of brand new cards, cards from the main Marvel Super Heroes set, reprints from past sets, and (of course) lands so you can actually cast any of those spells. There’s no variability within a specific theme’s card list this time around, but some of those themes are rarer than others – for example, that Fantastic Four pack is at the highest Mythic rarity, while Young Avengers is at Common.

You can check out the theme cards that represent all 51 options in this next gallery to see what they are, what their card list is, and get a quick sense of how they play:

All 51 Themes From Marvel Super Heroes Jumpstart – Magic: The Gathering

Every theme has a handful of brand new cards that can only be found in Marvel Super Heroes Jumpstart packs, usually somewhere in the range of three to seven. These cards use the MSC set code, which means they aren’t legal in Magic’s Standard format, but can be played in “Eternal” formats like Commander. (Of course, that legality doesn’t matter if you are only ever going to use these cards as part of Jumpstart!)

Similarly, there are 62 existing cards from past sets that have been reprinted with the MSC set code here, which doesn’t change where they could already be played. That includes simple classics with new art, like Lightning Bolt being channeled by Thor, as well as straight reprints with the same art from last year’s Spider-Man set. There are also a couple unexpected reprints, like the notorious combo card Doomsday, which leaves just five cards in your library to set up a win with something like the brand new “Doctor Doom, Unrivaled” in the DOOM theme pack.

You can take a look at all of the reprints that are only available in these Jumpstart packs here:

There are more cards that just the ones we’ve shared here in each theme pack, including new cards from the Marvel Super Heroes Beginner Box, reprints from the Welcome Decks, cards from the main set, and so on. Some of those show up in multiple themes as well, so it’s a lot to keep track of across all the different options!

Marvel Super Heroes isn’t far off, with tabletop prerelease events starting on June 19 before it arrives on MTG Arena digitally on June 23 and then finally hits full paper release on June 26. We’ve got more info on its four Commander decks in case that’s more your speed, and will surely have more coverage as we get closer to its debut.
